Hare and Tortoise  - Race Game by Waddingtons (1981)
The Hare and Tortoise Race Game is based on the Common folklore Tale as the name suggests between the arrogant Hare and the wise old Tortoise .
In this Game though you are all Hares ,
Each player starts with 65 Carrots as they are used as fuel to move your Hare along the Race Track and 5 Lettuces that must be discarded along the way, Carrots can be gathered throughout the Race but beware you are not allowed to finish the Race with more than twenty carrots or any Lettuces.
Extra Carrots can be earned by landing on number squares which if they match your position in the race at the end of the turn will give you Carrots ,Staying still will even give you carrots but the most will be earned by moving Backwards to the Tortoise Squares (the further you move back the more Carrots are earned.
 This is a cunningly designed race to the finish and you must pick you tactics carefully,do you race off into a great lead and risk running out of Carrots and not being able to get rid of your Lettuces or do you move around the Track like the old wise Tortoise and time your run to perfection, it is for you to choose
This is a Classic Game .
The Game is for 2 to 4 Players, Aged 8 Years to Adult 
The Game is Complete and the Contents are in Very Good Condition for its Age.
The Box is in Good plus condition for its Age.
