Arnhem - Operation Market Garden September 1944 by SPI (1976)
This was the famous Battle sometimes called " A Bridge too Far " which was the Final Bridge to take in "Operation Market Garden" which was planned to end the War quickly by surprising the Germans with an Airborne assault to take the key bridges thus providing a path to Germany,
The Final Bridge was Arnhem which was heroically held for nine days by the British 1st Airborne division but could not be relieved in time by the Polish and American Division despite valiant attempts .
The 1ST Airborne Division lost 3/4 of its men and did not fight again in the War.
