History of the World Board Game by Gibsons (1993) Unplayed

History of the World works under the assumptions that all empires eventually fade and that the only things differentiating great empires from lesser ones is how much territory they conquer and how long it takes for their civilizations to disappear.
The game is played out over 7 epochs or rounds, from the ancient 3000 B.C. Sumerians to the pre-WW1 Germany, with every player controlling a new rising empire from history.
Some empires are stronger than others (like the Romans), but the game's clever mechanisms can help balance that out.
At the end of each epoch, players score points for all units of their color (from both the current and any previous empires) remaining on the board.
All the Major empires throughout History are here but not all will reach their Historical Destiny, it is quite possible that Carthaginia and not Rome will control the Mediterranean World,
that the Mogul Hordes will not sweep from China to Europe in the Middle Ages and that it will be the French not the British who will dominate as the 19th Century Closes.
In the Game it is important to maintain your Empire for as long as possible which will earn you extra Victory Points and the Trappings of Capitals,Cities and Monuments will increase
your Empires Value.
To maintain your Empire Natural defensive Barriers such as Mountains and Forests become of Strategic importance,Fortifications and deploying your Armies will help preserve what
you have created, but beware of the Natural Disasters which have been the downfall of many Civilizations such as Floods,Earthquakes,Pestilence,Famine and Plagues etc.
Then their is the Leaders that will shape History such as Alexander the Great,Julius Caesar,Attila ,Ghengis Khan etc which will influence your Destiny.
The Result of all these Challenges will put you in a position to prove yourself against History and the People who forged it.
Are you ready for the Challenge !
