Raid on St Nazaire Board Game by Avalon Hill (1987)
0122am March 28th 1942 a five foot search light stabs the Night revealing in its floodlit glare the spectacle of two columns of ships
moving in silent formation over the Black mirror of the Sea,broken only at 18 bows and sterns by the white foam of Crafts gaining speed.
German signal stations blink out an instant challenge.
The Lead Vessel replies in kind.Silence.
The distance narrows as the flotilla moves ever closer to the great Docks.
How long will the ruse prevent the massed fire of the Shore Batteries from slamming into the ranks of the 611 Men of the Royal Navy
and Army Commando's who are now penetrating Charpentiers Channel ,At the end of this Night 5 Victoria Crosses will be Heroically Gained.
This Solitaire War Game simulates this Raid.
In the first part of the Game the Player moves the British boats and Destroyer HMS Campbeltown (which is disguised as a German Ship)
to their landing Area while determining the results of the many shots from the Harbour defense Guns,
Upon landing the remaining force tries to reach their objectives (Sub Pens,Caissons, docked Ships,Supply Tanks etc) and destroy them.
The Germans are controlled by the game system and arrive via random draw and placement and move by the most direct route to the
nearest British Commando.
As the Game progresses the Germans Units get tougher and better organised.
The Game ends when either all British Units are killed or Escape and they Score depending on the Targets destroyed .
The Game is for 1 Player, Aged 12 Years to Adult.

The Game is Complete and the Contents are in Very Good Condition for its Age.
The Box is in Good Condition for its Age  , there has been a run of lacquer on the box front that can be seen when the light catches it,
I have tried to show this mark in the  2nd picture
